Susie Siegesmund, Former VP & General Manager Rocket MultiValue Group
1. How did you get started in PICK?
After staying home with our two children for 19 years, I went to work for UniData in 1994 as a Technical Support – yes, I started off on the phones!
2. Why do you think MultiValue applications continue to thrive?
The applications are cost-effective and FAST. For example, USC has a supercomputer on-site, yet a single Unix server runs all of its student tracking applications on UniVerse.
3. What is a memorable event or funny story from your time in the market?
In total I worked for five companies during my career – UniData, Ardent, Informix, IBM, and Rocket – without ever having to actually change jobs.
4. What are you doing now?
I’m retired and spend eight months in Colorado and four in Arizona each year. I love playing golf and pickleball, and enjoy traveling the world without a briefcase.
5. What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about bicycle tours. I’ll be taking my 30th vacation via bicycle this June. This sunflower picture is from a trip to Spain
